M.I.C for severe kidney problem
A 44 years old, male patient. With bp 195/xx, admitted due to high blood pressure, now almost 24hours already. A non covid patient With underlying problem such as severe kidney failure, high bp and diabetic with 30% chances survival rate
Patient was told to be MIC.
My questions:
- is it necessary for a non covid patient with these underlying problem to be medically induced coma?
- Does this patient have any other option besides getting the MIC?

Hello, thank you for your enquiry.
For your information, the doctors on scene would had examined the patient and decided if the patient is able to self sustain or require medical supports. Some patients with severe uncontrolled blood pressure, diabetes and kidney failure would have acute respiratory distress syndrome or multisystem involvement, hence it is necessary to provide supportive therapy for the patient to avoid sudden collapse.
Upon this decision, multiple work-up would have been done and discussed for the best benefits for the patients.
For more information you may refer to your doctor or contact us for an online consultation for assistance.
Thank you, we hope our answer has been helpful.
