My heart rates are not normal

Hi, my name is Norman, 24 years old.
I have a problem, my heart rates are not normal.
Sometimes beat so fast like I’m running.
Please advise me.

Hi, thank you for your question. Fast heart beat is also known as tachycardia. Tachycardia occurs when something disrupts the normal electrical impulses that control your heart rate.
There are many causes and risk factors to a fast heart rate, such as congenital heart disease, anaemia, hyperthyroidism, low or high blood pressure, smoking, psychological stress or anxiety, exercise, drinking too much caffeinated drinks or alcohol, side effects of medications, use of recreational drugs and family history tachycardia.

Tachycardia can lead to other complications depending on its severity, such as heart failure, heart attack, stroke, fainting spells or sudden death. To prevent tachycardia, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to lower your risk of developing heart disease. You should eat a healthy diet.

Follow a low-fat, low-sodium diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Also, exercise regularly. Exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week or do vigorous aerobic exercises 20 minutes 3 times a week. Maintain a healthy weight. Keep your BMI less than 25 and waist circumference less than 35 inches. If you do smoke, quit smoking. Drink caffeinated drinks in moderation. Limit yourself to 1 to 2 drinks daily.

Besides, drink alcohol in moderation. Limit yourself to 1 drink a day. Other than that, learn to manage stress through coping techniques like deep breathing exercises and meditaion. Use medications as prescribed by doctor and go for regular health screenings to keep high blood pressure and cholesterol under control. Tachycardia can mean something serious. You should schedule a checkup and report your signs and symptoms to your doctor.
