The throat is itchy, Cough, wheezing

I’m 37 years old and my throat was itchy three days ago. Occasionalcoughs, not just coughing. Today it’s getting worse, coughing continuously and getting a little wheezing. But there’s no fever,Could you tell me if this is an infection with covid?

Greetings!

We understand your worries especially with the development of symptoms indicative but not exclusive of COVID-19. As you may already know, COVID-19 cannot be diagnosed with just history taking and by symptoms. Throat and nose swabs need to be done to identify the organism affecting your health. Therefore, i cannot tell you if you have COVID-19 or otherwise until you are being investigated using the tests mentioneds.

For you information, WHO listed common symptoms for COVID-19 infection as follows:

  • Fever (morea than 37.5 degrees celcius)
  • Fatigue
  • Cough
  • Aches and pains
  • Sorethroat
  • Headaches
  • Shortness of breath

throat itchiness are not typical symptoms of patients with COVID. It can be due to other health conditions such as:

  • dehydration
  • asthma
  • common cold
  • influenza infection
  • pharyngitis
  • tonsillitis
