aHi Doctor. I’m Shirah. Last 2 days I’ve experienced mild cough. Now it has stopped but I started to develop sore throat (I guess). It’s feels uneasy whenever I talk or swallow my saliva. Dekat bahagian belah kiri.
I wore face mask last 2 days because I was on duty. Not sure if i’m allergic to this. I always feels uneasy whenever I wear face mask. Should I go out to clinic. Quite affraid in this situation. Thanks.

We understand your worries especially with the development of symptoms indicative but not exclusive of COVID-19.
For you information, WHO listed common symptoms for COVID-19 infection as follows:
- Fever (morea than 37.5 degrees celcius)
- Fatigue
- Cough
- Aches and pains
- Sorethroat
- Headaches
- Shortness of breath
However, as you may already aware symptoms such as sore throat and cough are not specific to COVID-19 but can be presented in other conditions such as in common flu and other infections by bacteria or other viruses.
Besides COVID-19, your symptoms can be due to various diseases such as:
- Pneumonia
- Allergic Rhinitis
- Tonsillitis
Nevertheless, we still need to assess your risk of COVID-19 infection. Therefore, you are encouraged to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories and further actions suggested will be provided according to the classification.
You are advised to monitor your symptoms and limit contact with other person. Practice hand washing and hand hygine and well as wear protective mask when you interact with other people.
