Borderline Personality Disorder Mental Illness

Hi doc. May i know if someone who diagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder can got a symptoms of delusion and hallucinations? And did Borderline Personality Disorder having a serious symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Greetings! Thank you for your questions.

For your information, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is an illness marked by an ongoing pattern of varying moods, behaviour, and self- image. Patients with BPD may experience intense episodes of anger, anxiety, and depression that can last from a few hours to days. In the context of BPD, hallucinations occur “only in some individuals during times of stress”. In clinical practice, hallucinations experienced by patients with BPD are often designated as ‘pseudohallucinations’ to express the suspicion that they do not qualify as hallucinations proper. Meanwhile, Dissociative Identity Disorder is an illness that was formerly called as Multiple Personality Disorder. Not everyone with these illnesses experiences every symptom that has been described. Some individuals experience only a few symptoms, while others have many. Symptoms can be triggered by seemingly ordinary events, as well as the seriousness and progressiveness.
