Do I Have ADHD? What should I do?

Hi there. I hope you’re doing well. I am a female, turning 24 by next month, and I have been doing some research on ADHD lately. A few months ago, one of my friend said that I might have ADHD due to my symptoms. I realized that 3 years ago, if my boss was talking to me about work, i’d “zoned out” and when I snap back into reality, she was talking abt something else already. A few days ago, while driving, I was again zoning out and almost hit a divider. Which I consider very dangerous and need to know if I really have ADHD and seek help. I also tend to be so forgetful and often leaves things around that my mom would get mad at me. I was halfway to campus in Malacca that I forgot my room key. Sometimes I had to set an alarm so I won’t forget things. Fidgeting was quite normal to me. My legs wont stay still if I’m nervous or thinking about things that my aunt tend to get angry at me everytime I does that. She finds it annoying. My results in school was also not so good unless I’m interested in the subject. I could get an A to even an F. When I’m in a conversation, I tend to get bored and start to check my phone and from there I’d be in my own world and ignore others. My sisters would often get mad at me bcos I tend to get lost in the conversation and asked them to repeat for the 20th time. I feel bad honestly…

I am not sure if I have been experiencing this since I was small but I remember how my mom kept on saying that when I was around 2-3 years old, I was watching TV and nothing matters to me. Not even a bottle of milk. I threw it across the room and focused on watching TV.

Please adviced on what should I do. I’m really worried it could affect my job performance. Not only I tend to be forgetful, there are a lot of pending tasks that I didnt manage to complete and moved on to a new task.

Good morning and thank for the question.
From this the above enquiry i understand that you are concern with a few symptoms that you have experiencing and have been researching about ADHD.You are also asking for the best advice to go about with it.
A comprehensive evaluation which typically includes a review of past and current symptoms, a medical exam and history, and use of adult rating scales or checklists is much needed in order to diagnose you.
Adults with ADHD are treated with medication, psychotherapy or a combination.
Behavior management strategies, such as ways to minimize distractions and increase structure and organization, and involving immediate family members can also be helpful.
Thus without a a proper consultation from a psychiatrist, no conclusion can be made.
