Doing yoga to correct posture problems

I’m 21 years old female. Does yoga or excercise useful to correct my posture problems? I think I might have pelvic tilt, X shaped legs these kind of problem but I’m not sure about it. Where can I find an expect to guide me to do excercise to correct these problems?

Greetings!

Thank you for your question. I understand your worries regarding your condition.

For your information, pelvic tilt is when your pelvis is rotated forward, which forces your spine to curve. It’s often caused by excessive sitting without enough exercise and stretching to counteract the consequences of sitting all day. If you’ve got an anterior pelvic tilt you’ll notice that the muscles within the front of your pelvis and thighs are tight, while those within the back are weak. Your gluteus and abdominal muscles can also be weak.

Yoga might help with the problem a bit, but i encourage you to meet a physiotherapist to get a better treatment for your problem. You can find a lot of physiotherapist either in government facilities or private medical sectors.
