Flea Bites from cats

Got flea bites recently and treated it with Beprogent cream I bought from the pharmacy (the pharmacist recommended it). I’m not sure if it works but after I use it I still feel itchy and some of the bites became swollen. Please help.

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms. From your complaints, I would advise you to:

  • Wash the affected area with antiseptic soap to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Do not scratch. Hence use the cream you bought or you may want to visit your pharmacy again if the cream not working well for you.
  • For the swelling, you can try apply an icepack frequently to help relieve swelling or see your pharmacist for advice on appropriate antihistamine medications to reduce the swelling.

Otherwise, see your doctor if the symptoms worsen or if a secondary infection develops, indicated by discharge of pus from wounds.
