Hey and good morning. Cheers for letting me know the question. Im sorry to hear the situation that you are involved with. Having a late or missed period can be a little bit distressing, especially if a female is used to have a regular period or she is concerned about having a pregnancy.

But, there are many other causes why a female might have a missed period. It is good if we try to discuss them here. Having an emotional changes or stress about life or even about the menstrual cycle can make it longer or shorter, or even causing they missed a period. Some females also report they have more painful menstrual cramps when experiencing an emotional changes or stress.

Avoiding the situations that can cause the stress, such as taking regular physical exercise, and getting good amount of sleep can help a female eliminate stress and thus she can maintain a normal and a regular menstrual cycle. If a female is experiencing chronic stress, she can find it beneficial to speak to a GP or doctor.

Significant body weight loss or intense physical exercise can cause a female to miss the period. Being too underweight or having a low fat in the body can alter body functions such as making the hormone levels to become low where the ovulation process and menstruation can’t occur.

A female who has missed 1 or couple of periods after losing an extra amount of body weight should consult a GP or dietician about getting the appropriate management for the weight such as getting a good amount of minerals and vitamins, and nutrients that the body needs.
