I am not yet married but I don’t plan on pregnancy once I get married. I read about ovulation test and was wondering if I decided to take the OPK test such as today for example, and it shows that it is negative, so can it be considered to be safe to have sex? can we use it as an indication like a green light for sex? (with other protections such as condoms and hormonal pill as backups of course)
Hello and good afternoon.
Thank you for your question.
Based on your question, I understand that you are worried about your situation. I will try to help you.
The Ovulation Predictor Kit (OPK) is more accurate than other methods of ovulation monitoring. When used properly, OPKs from major brands are more than 97 percent effective at detecting an LH surge, which is a marker for ovulation. However, OPKs do not function reliably when injectable fertility drugs are used.Besides, certain women in their forties may have persistently elevated LH levels in their systems, invalidating the tests.
Therefore I highly recommend you speak to your doctor regarding your situation to provide you with the safest and best route of care to manage your condition as a whole, taking into account the various factors mentioned above and more. You can contact our doctor online for further information and treatment.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you.
