But as you have been having missed periods for two months this is unlikely your cause. Another reason would be incorrect technique of performing the pregnancy test. For a more accurate result, take the test first thing in the morning when the urine is most concentrated and give the test enough time to work. Sometimes, the pregnancy test kit that you have bought could be faulty. If that is the reason, you can try a different brand of pregnancy test to see if the test results come out differently.

On the other hand, it may also be possible that you are not pregnant and having missed periods. There are several reasons women undergo irregular periods. Some of them are:
• Prolonged period of stress
• Perimenopausal women
• Intense exercise or significant weight loss
• Obesity
• Birth control
• Polycystic ovarian syndrome
In your situation, I would advise you to take another pregnancy test at home after a few days. Go visit your gynecologist to get an ultrasound scan if your subsequent pregnancy tests turn out negative. If the doctor has ruled out pregnancy, get a full check-up to identify the cause of your missed periods.
