Greetings. The following description regarding the query is a general description to your current condition. Click on this link (DoctorOnCall) to converse with our doctors for further personalised consultation.

There are still multiple causes of lesions on the skin such as

  • fungal infection (tinea versicolor, tinea pedis)
  • bacterial infection of the skin (cellulitis)
  • contact dermatitis (usually reddish lesions)

However in his case it is most likely tinea versicolor which cause light and dark colour (hyperpigmentation) on the skin. At this rate, continue the medication prescribed by the pharmacist but if it is not resolving for a week, he should consider to seek a doctor for another opinion.

Zaricort is a combination of antifungal and topical steroid commonly used in treatment of ringworms and fungus. It may trigger allergic reaction as the side efffect but it is a rare ocassion
