My baby boy was born with a weight of 3.0kg and now 5 months 6.0kg. The weight of the baby every month is around 0.4kg-0.5kg. Is it normal? My baby is breastfeeding formula milk with approximately 4 oz once a drink, 5-6 bottles a day.I am a bit worried because my baby looks thin.Is my baby not getting enough milk.
Greetings! Thank you for your questions.
First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your baby’s health. For your information, it is expected for a normal baby to double his or her birth weight by about age 5 months. From birth to age 6 months, a baby might gain 5 to 7 ounces (about 140 to 200 grams) a week. As long as your baby is reaching his developmental targets and isn’t losing weight , there is no need to worry. Children who fail to gain enough weight in the first 9 months will usually catch up over time.
