What food should be avoided to prevent heart disease?

"Hi, thank you for your question. A healthy diet helps to prevent heart disease by improving heart function, maintaining a healthy weight, and lowering high blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
To prevent heart disease, avoid the following types of food. Avoid processed meat. These are meats that are preserved using large amounts of salt and other chemical preservatives. Some examples of processed meats are sausages, hot dogs, cured bacon, luncheon meat, deli ham and turkey. Containing high levels of chemical preservatives and salt, they are known as the worsttype of meat for your heart.

Highly refined and processed carbohydrates should also be eliminated from your diet. Examples of food high in refined and processed carbohydrates include sugar, white rice, white bread and low-fibre cereals. Many of the healthy components in whole grain, like dietary fibre, fatty aicds and minerals, are removed when they are processed. The natural structure of food is also destroyed in the process. Many unhealthy ingredients, such as sugar, salt, trans fat and preservatives, are also added when these food are processed.

Besides, cut down on soft drinks and sugary drinks. These include sodas, sports drinks and sweetened fruit juices. The amount of sugar added to these drinks is shocking. A can of soft drink can contain up to 10 teaspoons of sugar. Though diet sodas have lower calories and are sugar-free, then contain no nutrient. The effects these drinks have on your heart are the same as those of highly refined carbohydrates. To top that up, they are high in calories and contributes to weight gain.
In conclusion, try to eliminate these food from your diet as much as possible. " Thank you.
