• Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive that can be used to prevent pregnancy when used within 72 hours after unprotected sex.
• Postinor 2 can prevent up to 85% of pregnancies ( 95% of unwanted pregnancy if taken within the first 24 hours after unprotected sex and it decreases to 58% if taken between the 48 hours to 72 hours after unprotected sex. There are research incating that both doses can be taken at the same time. However, you may experience more side effects due to the high dose of hormone.
• No known evidence of prevention of pregnancy by Postinor 2 when taken after 72 hours of unprotected sex.
