  • Hi there! Thank you for the question. Reading from your question I could understand that you are experiencing vaginal discharge which can be very uncomfortable. It is apparent that you are worried about your condition. First of all, lets begin with your menstrual irregularities. There are many reason which can cause menstrual irregularities.

  • Hormonal imbalance and structural abnormalities of the uterus are the most common causes of menstrual irregularities. There are few tests you can do to confirm the reason for your menstrual irregularities such as pelvic examination, pap smear (rule out vaginal cancer), blood test (can determine if there is any hormonal imbalance) and ultrasound (to identify if there are any structural abnormalities within your uterus).

  • As for your vaginal discharge it can be caused by sexually transmitted infections or non sexual diseases. If its sexually transmitted infections, there are chances it is chlamydia or gonorrhea. These infections are contracted from having multiple sexual partners.

  • Symptoms of sexuall transmitted infections includes discharge (thick or thin, milky white, yellow, or green leakage from the vagina), vaginal itching, vaginal blisters or blisters in the genital area (the region covered by underwear), vaginal rash or rash in the genital area, burning urination, painful urination and pain during intercourse. On the other hand, it can also be bacterial vaginosis.

  • Bacterial vaginosis is vaginal inflammation caused by the overgrowth of bacteria naturally found in the vagina, which upsets the natural balance. Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis includes thin, gray, white or green vaginal discharge, foul-smelling "fishy" vaginal odor, vaginal itching and burning sensation during urination. Hence it is advisable to consult a Ob-gyne for your condition. This will prevent any future consequences. All the best!
