For you information, birth control pill and morning after pill is a method used to prevent pregnancy. Using these methods both reduces the risk of pregnancy by almost 90%. However, there is a huge difference between these two.

Birth control pill comes in a strip containing 28 pills. The first pill is taken on the first day of your period and one for each day and the other consecutively. Examples of birth control pills include Mercilon, Noriday and Yaz. Birth control pill can be taken regularly on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, morning after pills comes in a strip containing 2 pills. The first pill is taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex, meanwhile the second pill 12 hours after the first pill. Examples of morning after pills include Postinor-2. Morning after pills cannot be taken regularly unlike the birth control pillls. Morning after pills are meant as an emergency contraception after an unprotected sex.
