My dad 72 years old, and recently got ischemic stroke right after coronary artery bypass graft surgery at IJN.
17 March - CABG surgery.
19 March - got CT scan result, diagnosed with ischemic stroke, cant move at all, cant speak, tube feeding.
25 March - able to move right hand and head slowly, but still cant speak and tube feeding.
27 march - transferred out from ICU ward, to HDU ward.
until today no any significant improvement on his condition. right now he still cant speak and eating using tube.
i want to ask, beside stroke rehabilitation at hospital, is there any way to help on his recovery at home?
such as supplement, equipment, or therapy.
i bought some supplement for my dad, but i have wait for him back home before i can give it to him, right now he still in HDU ward at IJN.
i bought Fish Oil for DHA and Citicoline, does those supplement i bought can help with ischemic stroke recovery? afraid those supplement could worsen his condition.
what maximum dosage of those supplement that i bought can my dad take?
any other supplement suggestion?
any suggestion how to take care of my dad?
any suggestion of home equipment should i buy?
Greetings! Thank you for your questions.
First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your dad’s symptoms and other health problems he might be facing. We are trying our best to comfort you. However, we are unable to recommend any specific vitamins or supplements only based on queries provided by you. Supplements may good for some patients, but not suitable for others. Further examination should be done to find out his overall health status. We recommend you and ask the doctor who needs a health check to be done to your dad and talk to the doctor directly about vitamins and supplements that are suitable and safe for him to take. Besides, rehabilitation after a stroke begins in the hospital, often within a day or two after the stroke and can help prevent another stroke. In addition, recovery time after a stroke is different for everyone which it can take weeks, months, or even years.
In order for us to provide you with an accurate choice of treatment and management, we need additional details to explore further into your current complaints.
