Greetings! Thank you for your questions.

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing. For your information, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) increases the excretion of iron in the presence of deferoxamine. It is started after the initial month of deferoxamine therapy. It is given orally in the dose prescribed by a doctor and taken soon after the deferoxamine infusion has been initiated. You should be cautioned against excessive ascorbate intake when deferoxamine is not being infused. Ascorbate releases iron and has been associated with increased cardiac damage when taken in the absence of an iron chelator.

Therefore, in order for us to provide or recommend you with an accurate choice of management, we need additional details to explore further into your current complaints. We greatly suggest that you refer this to your nearest medical doctor. You may also click on this link (DoctorOnCall) to speak with our doctors online.

We assure you that our conversations are kept in confidentiality unless additional consultation needed with other medical parties. The following answers regarding your current queries are just general descriptions .Thank you.
