Toddler Ear Swollen & Redness, Not Sure If Bug Bite

My 2yo son has his earlobe (top part) that is swollen and red. At first I thought it was a bug/mosquito bite, but after putting ointment (that I usually put if he got mosquito bit), the swelling did not subside. He doesn’t seem to be in pain but it is itchy. Should I be worried? Or what topical ointment/cream can I apply?
