During the first day of mco 2.0, I was working until Saturday. However, I think I have chest pain once in a while (which begin on yesterday and I think maybe was anxiety attack) due to the pandemic issues that have been non stop rising and I’m having a lot of uncertainty and keep on thinking unnecessary stuff. So like do I need to do swab test or am I just having anxiety attack?

Hello, and thank you for contacting us

We truly understand your concern with regard to your current condition. However our views would only reflect based on the description that you have brought forth into the forum.

Get a good rest with a restful sleep.

Anxiety and panic attack are two common symptoms of psychiatrical disorder that correlates to one another especially during this difficult time. However in response to your problem, thorough history taking and (if needed) examination must be done to have a better working diagnosis - to ensure if any medication is currently needed. In addition, treatment for such condition are usually tailored specifically to each individual. Therefore we couldn’t guarantee such medication will be prescribed before proper consultation.

Notably, with regard to the community mental health during this COVID-19 pandemic, we advised you to always keep your heads up & spirit high, remember to always check-in with family members and close friends. Eat healthily, sleep well and stay physically active as much as possible.

Additonally, WHO listed common symptoms for COVID-19 infection as follows:

  • Fever (more than 37.5 degrees Celcius)
  • Fatigue
  • Cough
  • Aches and pains
  • Sore throat
  • Headaches
  • Shortness of breath

I would also encourage you to answer this quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate their health status in regards to this disease from time to time. You may also try to contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) if deemed necessary. Or click on this link to directly request a COVID-19 screening test.

In need of a second opinion? Our pulmonologist are here to help.

With that being said we encourage you to consult with the nearest clinic or hospital in your area. In addition you can also talk directly to our doctors by using this link. (DoctorOnCall) Thank you.
